Dropdowns in AutoRFP.ai

Dropdowns can be used within tables to denote a templated set of responses to a requirement. They can be used in conjunction with regular responses and response columns. When selected, AutoRFP.ai will take all the information associated with a requirement, including all of the dropdown’s options and their criteria for selection, and pass it along to the response engine to intelligently choose the appropriate response based on your organization’s context.

Upon exporting a project, the chosen dropdown option’s label will be placed inside the marked table cell, similarly to regular responses.

Selecting Existing Dropdowns

When uploading a new Excel document within a project, AutoRFP.ai will detect dropdowns within the document. Once within the importer, clicking on a spreadsheet cell with one of these dropdowns will present you with the following menu:

This menu can be used to configure the different options within the dropdown, which will be pre-populated with the existing options from within the source document’s dropdown. From there you can choose to further customise these options, including:

Confirming an Existing Dropdown

Once you have confirmed the dropdown options (and optionally their criteria for selection) are correct, the table cell will have a light green box within it to indicate that it has been designated as a dropdown cell.

Upon clicking other cells with a dropdown that have the same options, you will see the above menu, only requiring you to click on the label to designate the cell as a dropdown.

Creating a New Dropdown

Create a new dropdown when you want AutoRFP.ai to populate a table cell with a limited set of responses. Click an empty cell you and will be presented with the option to create a dropdown.

Click ‘Create Dropdown’ to open the menu with our preconfigured templates, along with the option to create your own template.

These templates can be configured the same way as any other dropdown. Click confirm, your new dropdown will be created and the matching table cell(s) will be designated as dropdown cells.

See our article on Advanced Configuration for further dropdown capabilities.
