Confidential Projects User Guide

Overview

Confidential Projects provide enhanced security for sensitive information by restricting visibility to explicitly authorized team members only. This guide will walk you through creating and managing confidential projects in our platform.

Note: Confidential Projects are being released on a rolling basis. To enable this feature for your organization, please contact our support team.

What Are Confidential Projects?

A confidential project is a secure workspace that:

  • Is visible only to users explicitly added to the project

  • Cannot be accessed by other team members, including administrators

  • Features modified functionality to maintain security standards

Due to their enhanced security requirements, confidential projects have specific functional changes. For complete details about these modifications, please refer to our comprehensive Confidential Projects documentation.

Prerequisites

  • Administrator privileges required - Only administrators can create confidential projects

  • Feature must be enabled for your organization

Creating a Confidential Project

Step 1: Initiate Project Creation

  1. Navigate to your dashboard

  2. Select Create Project

  3. Follow the standard prompts until you reach the Select Content step

Step 2: Enable Confidentiality

On the Select Content step, locate and check the "Make Project Confidential" checkbox

Important: The "Save Responses to be used in future projects" option will automatically be disabled. This prevents confidential information from being exposed to unauthorized users through response libraries.

Note: While automatic response saving is disabled, you can still manually add responses to libraries when appropriate.

Step 3: Complete Project Setup

  1. Continue through the project creation flow as normal

  2. Select your desired response modes

  3. Configure any additional settings

  4. Click "Create Project" to finalize

Step 4: Verify Confidential Status

Once created, you can confirm your project's confidential status by looking for the red "Confidential" tag displayed next to the project name. This visual indicator confirms you're working within a secure, confidential environment.

Managing Confidentiality Settings

You can modify a project's confidentiality status after creation:

To Change Confidentiality Status:

  1. Navigate to the project you wish to modify

  2. Select Edit Project from the project menu

  3. Navigate to the Content & Tags tab

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page

  5. Check or uncheck the "Make Project Confidential" option as needed

  6. Click Update to save your changes

Warning: Changing a project from confidential to standard will make it visible to all users with appropriate permissions. Ensure all team members understand this change before proceeding.
