Step 2: Choose Your Search Strategy
For each tag category, decide how the response engine should search content.
1. Locate the tag category you want to configure.
2. Choose between two primary approaches:
Option A: Filter by Tags (Stricter Approach)
What it does: Excludes content that doesn't match your criteria
When to use: Strict boundaries between content areas (compliance, region-specific)
Result: Only matching content will be considered
Option B: Prefer Tag Matches (Flexible)
What it does: Considers all content but prioritizes better matches
When to use: Broader context acceptable with preferences
Result: All content available, but is ranked by relevance
3. Click your selected strategy option.
Step 3: Configure Filter by Tags (If Selected)
1. If you chose Filter by Tags, select a Filter Mode:
Only Matching Tags:
Requires content to match project tags exactly
No additional tags from this category are allowed
Use for: Strict compliance requirements, fund-specific content
At Least One Matching Tag
Requires minimum one tag match with project scope
Content can have additional tags from this category
Use for: Product categories, regional content
2. Click your preferred filter mode. Settings auto-save immediately.
Step 4: Configure Prefer Tag Matches (If Selected)
1. If you chose Prefer Tag Matches, select an Importance Level:
High
Tag matches strongly influence content ranking
Mismatches significantly deprioritized
Use for: Critical business categories
Medium (Recommended Default)
Balanced approach to tag matching
Moderate impact on content ranking
Use for: Standard categories
Low
Minimal impact on content ranking
Tags are used as suggestions, not requirements
Use for: Metadata, supplementary categories
2. Click your preferred importance level. Settings auto-save immediately.
Advanced: Configure Tag Assignment for New Responses

π‘ Tips & Best Practices
Choosing Search Strategies:
Start with Prefer Tag Matches (Medium) for most categories
Use Filter by Tags only for strict requirements (compliance, geography)
Reserve High importance for 2-3 truly critical categories
Filter Mode Selection:
Only Matching Tags: Use when content must never cross boundaries (regulatory content)
At Least One Matching Tag: Use when some overlap is acceptable (product lines)
When in doubt, start with "At Least One" for more flexibility
Tag Assignment Best Practices:
From Content Used: Best when source content is well-organized and consistently tagged
AI Auto-tagging: Helpful for new content or when tags overlap
Manual: Use sparingly - increases manual work
βπΌ Common Mistakes to Avoid
Over-using Filter by Tags (limits content availability unnecessarily)
Using Only Matching Tags when At Least One would work better
Not testing configuration changes before rolling out organization-wide
Expecting perfect results without reviewing source content tagging first
Making all categories strict when flexibility would serve better
