Article Summary

Configure multi-reviewer approval processes using three review types: Any Review (default single-reviewer approval), Sequential Review (ordered approvals), or All Review (requires all reviewers). Set review types per response to control your approval workflow and ensure quality standards are met.

Estimated time

30 seconds to configure

Prerequisites

  • Admin user, Project Owner, or assigned Reviewer role

  • Active project with responses ready for review

  • Understanding of your organization's approval workflow requirements

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Set Review Type for Responses

  1. Navigate to the response you want to configure in the Project Editor.

  2. Click the reviewer assignment button (green).

  3. Select your preferred review type from the dropdown menu:

    • Any Review (default): Any single reviewer's approval completes the review

    • Sequential Review: Reviewers must approve in a specific order

    • All Review: Every assigned reviewer must approve before completion

  4. Assign up to 3 reviewers per response.

  5. For Sequential Review, arrange reviewers in the desired approval order.

Step 2: Assign Reviewers

Assignment Requirements:

  • You must be the current reviewer, admin user, or project owner to assign reviewers

  • Maximum of 3 reviewers per response

For New Responses:

  1. Click the reviewer assignment button (appears in green).

  2. Select reviewers from your team.

  3. Choose the review type.

  4. Confirm the assignment.

💡Pro tip:

Use bulk actions to update review types for multiple responses at once.

  1. Select multiple responses using checkboxes on the left margin.

  2. Click Assign in the bulk actions toolbar.

  3. Choose reviewers and review type.

  4. When prompted with a confirmation dialog, select:

    • Override only responses that are not submitted or in review, OR

    • Override all selected responses

Step 3: Submit and Review Responses

As an Editor:

  1. Complete your response edits.

  2. Click Submit.

  3. Reviewers receive notifications based on review type:

    • Sequential Review: Only the first reviewer is notified

    • All Review: All reviewers are notified simultaneously

    • Any Review: All reviewers are notified

As a Reviewer:

  1. Check My Tasks to see responses ready for your review.

  2. Review the response content.

  3. Click Approve to approve and advance to the next reviewer (or complete the review process).

  4. OR click Request Changes to send back to the Editor.

Note: In Sequential Review mode, responses appear in My Tasks only when it's your turn to review.

Step 4: Monitor Review Progress

Visual Status Indicators on User Avatars:

Project Overview:

  1. Navigate to Project Overview to monitor review progress.

Please note: The Project Overview reflects multi-reviewer assignments. You may see assignment counts that exceed the total requirement count when multiple reviewers are assigned to single responses. This is normal and indicates shared review responsibilities.

💡 Tips & Best Practices

Choosing Review Types:

  • Use Sequential Review when reviews need to build on each other (e.g., technical review → compliance review → executive approval)

  • Use All Review when you need consensus from multiple stakeholders before approval

  • Use Any Review for quick approvals when any qualified reviewer can sign off

Workflow Efficiency:

  • Use bulk actions to apply the same review type across entire sections or categories

✋🏼 Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Assigning more than 3 reviewers per response. System limit prevents this action

  • Using Sequential Review when All Review is more appropriate—wastes time waiting for order when consensus is the goal
