Setting Up Multilingual Projects

1. Confirm Your Default Working Language

Before starting, ensure your organisation's default working language is set correctly.

You can set this in Organisation > Details

This helps AutoRFP.ai identify when a questionnaire requires translation.

2. Creating a Translated Project

a. Upload Your Document

Import your document and select the corresponding fields as usual.

b. Review Language Detection

On the "Select Content" page, locate the Languages section at the bottom. You'll see two important fields:

  • Working Language: The language you prefer to work in (usually your native language). This defaults to your organisation's working language but can be changed.

  • Export Language: The language for your final answers, typically matching the questionnaire's language.

c. Create the Project

Click "Create Project" to initiate the project. AutoRFP.ai will translate all questions into your working language and begin generating responses accordingly.

Working on Multilingual Projects

The project editor functions similarly to monolingual projects, with a few key differences:

Views

Multilingual project will have a new dropdown in the task bar to toggle different views.

  1. Working Language View: Use this view for answering questions in your preferred language.

  2. Export Language View: Primarily used by translators to review the final output.

  3. Compare View: Ideal for translators to review AutoRFP.ai's translations side-by-side with the original text.

Compare Mode

Submission

When you're satisfied with your answers, simply click "Submit". This action translates your responses into the export language, preparing them for export or translator review.

Export

Exporting generates all answers in the chosen export language. Remember:

  • Only submitted (and thus translated) answers will be exported.

  • Always submit your answers before exporting to ensure proper translation.

Best Practices

  1. Double-check your working and export language settings before creating a project.

  2. Use the Compare View to ensure accurate translations.

  3. Re-translate out of date translations.

  4. Consider having a native speaker review the final translated output for critical projects.

By leveraging AutoRFP.ai's multilingual features, you can confidently tackle questionnaires in any supported language, expanding your reach and improving communication across language barriers.
