AutoRFP makes it easy to export your responses directly into your existing templates or the customer's original format.

Exporting Projects

You can export your work at any time using the export button in the top right corner of the Project Editor View.

If you create an export template (see instructions below), you'll be able to select it whenever you are exporting responses from a file that was imported in Word or PDF format. You cannot export to PDF format in AutoRFP. If you would like to retain the customer format, you will have to upload the project as a Word document and then convert back to PDF after you have exported.

When exporting a project you will have the following options:

  • Export backup to Excel

  • Export to generic word template

  • Export to Proposal template

  • Export all attachments as a zip file

What If My Export Fails?

If your export fails, or has errors that prohibit you from working further, use the "Excel Backup" or "All Requirements" export functions to get a backup file which you can copy/paste your final answers out of in the meantime.

Reach out to support with any exporting errors or issues. Please include Project Details, Export type, and any screenshots so that our team can address the issue as quickly as possible.

Creating a Response Template

How It Works

  1. Add placeholders to your existing template(s).

  2. AutoRFP recognizes these placeholders and inserts your responses accordingly.

  3. The rest of your template remains unchanged.

Create Your Template

  1. Start with your existing proposal or questionnaire response template.

  2. Add the following placeholders where you want your responses to appear:

    • [Section]

    • [Subsection]

    • [Requirement]

    • [Response]

  3. Style each placeholder using the formatting you want for that type of content.

Upload Your Template

Go to Organization -> Export Settings.

Click the "Create New" button.

Give your template a name, optionally a description and upload the file created in the previous steps and you're good to go!

Updating the Table of Contents

  1. Add a Table of Contents to your Document if you don't already have one.

  2. Ensure each placeholder is in a paragraph with the appropriate style (e.g., [Section] in 'Heading 1').

  3. After exporting, right-click on the table of contents and select "Update Field" to refresh it.

Additional Features

AutoRFP can also replace the following placeholders:

  • [Customer Name]: Replaced with the customers name

  • [Project Name]: Replaced with the current project name

  • [Date]: Replaced with the export date

You can find an example proposal template attached below.
