AutoRFP.ai

ChatGPT lets you connect external tools to your conversations using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once set up, you can ask ChatGPT things like "What projects are due this week?" or "Search our content library for anything about data security" and it will pull the answer straight from AutoRFP. 

📝 Note: Adding a new plug in requires users to configure settings using the ChatGPT website and cannot be done using the ChatGPT Desktop Application.

Open <a href="https://chatgpt.com" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">chatgpt.com</a> in your browser

In the left sidebar, click Settings &gt; Apps &gt; Advanced Settings

1. Open <a href="https://chatgpt.com" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">chatgpt.com</a> in your browser
2. In the left sidebar, click Settings &gt; Apps &gt; Advanced Settings 
3. Toggle on Developer Mode
4. Exit out of the Settings pop up

Go to Plugins page, using the menu on the left

In the New Plugin dialog, fill in the following details:

1. Name: AutoRFP
2. Connection: Server URL
3. Server URL: <a href="https://api.autorfp.ai/mcp" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://api.autorfp.ai/mcp</a>
4. Authentication: OAuth

Check the box to confirm: "I understand and want to continue"

1. Go to Plugins page, using the menu on the left
2. Click on the + button
3. In the New Plugin dialog, fill in the following details:
 1. Name: AutoRFP
 2. Connection: Server URL
 3. Server URL: <a href="https://api.autorfp.ai/mcp" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://api.autorfp.ai/mcp</a>
 4. Authentication: OAuth
4. Check the box to confirm: "I understand and want to continue"
5. Click Create

‼️ Important: ChatGPT will display a warning that custom MCP servers introduce risk. This is a standard notice — AutoRFP's MCP server is secure, but always ensure you're using the official URL: <a href="https://api.autorfp.ai/mcp" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://api.autorfp.ai/mcp</a>

After clicking Create, ChatGPT will prompt you to connect your AutoRFP.ai account

Click Connect and sign in to AutoRFP.ai via the OAuth popup

Authorize the connection and allow ChatGPT access to read data from AutoRFP.ai when prompted

Once connected, the AutoRFP.ai app will appear in your Personal Plugins 

1. After clicking Create, ChatGPT will prompt you to connect your AutoRFP.ai account
2. Click Connect and sign in to AutoRFP.ai via the OAuth popup
3. Authorize the connection and allow ChatGPT access to read data from AutoRFP.ai when prompted
4. Once connected, the AutoRFP.ai app will appear in your Personal Plugins

Start a new chat in ChatGPT (either the Desktop App or the website)

1. If you are using the ChatGPT App, you may have to refresh

Click the + button on the left of the chat box

1. for example: "Search our content library for data security answers" or "What AutoRFP.ai projects are currently active?"

4. Enter a request to test your connection

MCP connectors are available on ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Team plans.

Once connected, ChatGPT can search your content library, retrieve project details, check deadlines, and more by using the same tools available in AutoRFP's native agent.

What should I do if the OAuth popup is blocked?

If the popup doesn't appear, update your browser settings to allow popups for chatgpt.com and try again.
